Dr. Heidi A. Licata

Dr. Heidi A. Licata 

Hospital Owner/ Veterinarian

Dr. Heidi Aguiar Licata grew up in Fall River Massachusetts. She knew she wanted to be a veterinarian at a very young age. She obtained her Bachelors of Science in Biology from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. She then went on to attend Veterinary school at Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in St Kitts, West Indies.  She also attended one year of clinical training at Louisiana State University. Dr. Licata is a licensed veterinary acupuncturist and a licensed wildlife rehabilitator. Dr Licata has been a veterinarian in the greater Rochester community since 2003. In addition to treating Dogs and Cats, she has a strong professional interest in caring for non traditional species such as reptiles, birds, rabbits and small mammals. She is also a level II "Fear Free" certified veterinarian. 

Dr Licata shares her home with her family and many animals including dogs, cats, a horse and alpaca.
In her free time Dr. Licata enjoys running, cycling, traveling (especially to the ocean) and spending time with her family and pets. 

Dr. Licata truly enjoys helping to enrich the human animal bond and being a part of the amazing families that trust her to care for their animals.

Dr. Ashley Appleton

Dr. Ashley Appleton grew up in Hilton, NY where she began working in the field of veterinary medicine at the age of 16 as a veterinary assistant which confirmed her childhood dreams of becoming a veterinarian. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in Biology from SUNY Geneseo in 2013 and proceeded to Ross University where she obtained her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2017.

Since then, Dr. Appleton has been working in the Rochester area as a small animal general practice veterinarian. She has a special interest in dentistry, surgery, and end of life care. She is also “Fear Free” certified. She enjoys teaching new students who are interested in working in the veterinary field.

In her free time, Dr. Appleton can be found spending time with her two horses, Buckaroo and Juju, hiking with her two dogs, Brimmie and Piggy, or snuggling with her two cats, Auggie and Tuli. She also enjoys scuba diving while she travels.
