Dr. Liz Ferderbar

Dr. Liz Ferderbar

Dr. Liz Ferderbar is a Wisconsin native, and she wanted to be a veterinarian ever since she knew what one was. She attended the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities and graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Animal Science and a minor in Theatre Arts. Leaving snow for sandy beaches, she attended Western University of Health Sciences in Southern California and was awarded her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine. After several years in the sunshine state, she missed "proper" seasons, so she jumped at the chance when selected for a rotating internship in surgery and internal medicine at a specialty and emergency hospital in Rochester.

Since then, Dr. Ferderbar has spent her time serving the animals and families of the Rochester area as a general practice doctor and providing traveling surgical skills to various local hospitals and non-profit organizations. She is also a Reiki master and a "Fear Free" certified veterinarian. Dr. Ferderbar particularly enjoys surgery, dentistry, and exotic animal medicine. Her patients include birds, reptiles, rabbits, small mammals, axolotls, lynx, tegus, porcupines, foxes, alligators, and lemurs!

When not caring for critters, Dr. Ferderbar can usually be found at the home she shares with the two loves of her life: her husband, David, and a bob-tailed tabby named Brannigan. She enjoys biking with David, clicker-training with Brannigan, and working on the hydroponic garden she planted in her Doctor Who-themed library. Other things that are fun include musical theatre, aerial silks, pour painting, Krav Maga, and keeping the 13 bird feeders around the yard well-stocked for feathered friends (and some persistent squirrels).
